The roots of Polygonum cuspidatum have been used since ancient times in Eastern Medicine for the proper functioning of the cardiovascular system and for the treatment of liver disorders.
Research has shown that resveratrol has antioxidant activity in aqueous and fatty environments and may inhibit or slow down certain cell degeneration processes. Also, various studies have shown that resveratrol by activating a specific group of gene proteins called sirtuins, can lead to the optimization of biomarkers required for the better functioning of the body such as increasing cellular sensitivity to insulin and balancing blood sugar levels.
